Eligibility People's Health and Wellness Clinic in Barre provides care for uninsured and underinsured patients whose household incomes fall below 300% of the federal poverty line.
Background The People’s Health and Wellness Clinic provides health care to approximately 36 towns in central Vermont. The PHWC emphasizes collaboration between conventional/medical and complementary/holistic practitioners who often consult with one another to provide the full spectrum of health care. The clinic is staffed by volunteer medical professionals, both on-site and referrals including medical physicians, chiropractic physicians, naturopathic physicians, homeopathic practitioners, mental health counselors, massage therapists, therapeutic touch practitioners, nutritionists, dietitians, gynecologists, nurses, and other health specialists. It is only with the generous contribution of these professionals, along with the efforts of volunteers from the community, that we can meet the needs of the uninsured and underinsured in Central Vermont. The clinic depends on community participation. Volunteers can help in a number of areas beyond providing health care, such as fundraising, special events, and staffing the clinic.
