Background

Rutland Free Clinic began operation in 1996. Since that date, we have continued to grow and to change. Dental services were added in 2004. In 2007, we partnered with Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region, a local Federally Qualified Health Center ? the first partnership of its kind in the state of Vermont. This partnership has enabled a move to a larger, more visible space and will enable us to offer more dental care and extended medical clinic hours. We are a registered nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation in the state of Vermont. Staffed by volunteer professionals, we provide medical and dental care to uninsured adults whose income is not more than 200% of the federal poverty level. We also offer care to adults who are underinsured, having catastrophic health insurance with at least an annual $10,000+ deductible.

This clinic is a shining example of community involvement. Area pharmacies, our local hospital, medical and dental specialists all offer services and discounts to our clients in need of care. Volunteers from all walks of life and professions work with us to advertise, support, and provide care to our neighbors in need. We are supported financially by the State of Vermont, Corporate and individual donations, and Grants.

Of primary concern to us is YOUR health. Below are some of the services we provide to accomplish that goal:

• Physical exams
• Acute illness exams (no emergency care is available)
• Annual flu clinics
• Mental Health counseling
• Physical therapy
• Occupational therapy
• Dental Hygiene care
• Women?s Health clinics
• Nutrition counseling
• Alternative Health modalities
• Referral to medical specialists as needed

We also assist our clients in obtaining the assistance that they need to maintain their health. In that light, we will assist in completion of forms for VHAP, Medicaid, RRMC free care program, Ladies First, Quit line, and Prescription Assistance Programs.

Operation

Rutland Free Clinic does not offer emergency services, but has at least two clinics per week, usually on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  Call (802) 775-1360 to make an appointment.
